Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the private Home Assistant Nest integration described at this site. The integration is used for personal smart-home automation and is not a commercial or public service.

Information accessed

When authorized through Google, the integration may access supported Google Nest device information made available through the Smart Device Management API. Depending on the devices and permissions granted, this can include device identifiers and metadata, device state, thermostat information, camera or doorbell events, and supported camera or doorbell media features.

How information is used

Google Nest information is used only to operate personal Home Assistant automations, display device status, control supported devices, and provide requested smart-home functionality.

Storage and sharing

Information is processed by the user's self-hosted Home Assistant system as needed for smart-home operation. Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Access and revocation

Access can be revoked at any time through the user's Google Account security and connected-app settings. Removing the integration from Home Assistant also stops its use of the authorized Google Nest connection.

Google API data

Use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

Contact

Questions about this integration can be directed to the support contact listed on its Google OAuth consent screen.
